About

OBJECTS THAT SHOULD EXIST.

Not Uncommon Objects makes things that are already everywhere — just done better. Not rare. Not precious. Not trying to be art.

Just the version that treats you like you have taste. Because you do.

73 of each object. That's it. Ever.

DESIGNED
BETTER.
USED, NOT
DISPLAYED.

Vol. 01 — Not Uncommon Objects
THE DOORSTOP

Every doorstop is a rubber wedge that slides across the floor or a decorative object that doesn't hold the door. We made the one that does both.

What makes it different
Weight
1.8 lbs of cast resin. Heavy enough to hold any door. Light enough to kick aside.
Base
Non-slip rubber pad. Stays where you put it. Doesn't scratch your floor.
Color
Pigment cast all the way through. Not painted. It won't chip — ever.
Ships
Free. Within 5 business days. In packaging you won't immediately recycle.
Edition
73 per colorway. Never restocked. The next colorway is a new object.
The design brief

The brief was simple: make a doorstop that actually works and looks like someone thought about it.

Form-led. Weighted. Color all the way through.

No rubber wedge energy. No fake hedgehog. Just a considered object that sits on your floor and earns its place there.

Colorways

Four colors. 73 of each. Choose wisely.

The design brief

Hardware stores sell pulls that are either completely anonymous or trying to be architectural statement pieces at $30 each.

This is neither.

A considered form. A real material. A color that makes you happy every single time you open a drawer.

What makes it different
Form
Geometric slab body. Considered from every angle. Right on a nightstand, a desk, or a shelf.
Base
Cast resin — heavy enough to stay put. The weight is part of the experience.
Light
Frosted diffuser panel. No visible bulb. Warm, even, honest light.
Cord
Braided textile cord in a complementary color. Not an afterthought — a detail.
Socket
Standard E26. Any bulb you want. No proprietary parts, ever.
Edition
38 per colorway. One run. No exceptions.
The design brief

Good table lamps are either $400 at a design store or anonymous at Target. Nothing in between is actually well designed.

We're making the one in between.

Heavy base. Geometric form. Diffused light. A cord that looks intentional. The lamp you describe to people when they ask where you got it.

About Not Uncommon Objects
WE MAKE
THINGS THAT
SHOULD ALREADY
EXIST.

The idea

Not Uncommon Objects started with a simple frustration: most everyday objects are badly designed. Not because good design is hard — but because nobody bothered.

We bother. Every object in the line starts with the same question: why does the current version feel like nobody thought about it? Then we make the version that does.

Not rare. Not precious. Not trying to be art. Just the version that treats you like you have taste. Because you do.

The rules

01
73 objects per colorway. That's it. Ever. When a colorway sells out, it's gone. The next colorway is a new object.
02
Form before decoration. Every object starts with function. The form follows. Color is the last decision — and it has to earn its place.
03
Not $200. Good design doesn't have to cost what it costs at a museum gift shop. We price fairly and explain why.
04
One object at a time. We don't launch collections. We launch objects. When one is right, we make the next one.

GET IT BEFORE IT'S GONE.

73 objects. Each colorway made once. Join the list and we'll tell you the moment a drop goes live.
